This portrait almost didn’t happen. Dad fell this morning. I called 9/11. It took the paramedics over 20 minutes to find our off-the-grid street. I sat with him, keeping him still as he moaned, telling me his back hurt.

When the EMTs finally arrived and examined him, his affected changed. He stopped complaining about his back. He then stood up like nothing was wrong . I therefore declined a trip to the emergency room.

After four hours of observation, he seems unfazed.

It wasn’t until I finished this 360th portrait that I exhaled. He’s tougher than I ever imagined..and so am I.
